THE PAST AND THE PRESENT

Born and raised in Boise, Idaho. I found which direction I wanted to go early on, and I’ve been smashing through personal finish lines ever since. I have studied art at Boise High and Boise State University, and received my BFA from BSU. I have an eye for balance and perfection, and knowing what we, as humans, want to look at. But, life isn’t perfect, so a majority of my non-professional design and typography accepts imperfection and exploits a free-flowing nature with out looking back. Whether it took 60 hours to build, or 5 minutes to whip up, my work finds a way to inspire.

Living in Boise has been a blessing from an artist’s standpoint. It’s small enough to make big waves if you want to, but growing fast enough to able to seek out new like-minded people to work with. Not to mention there is a vast contingent of kind and talented artists and musicians. We have the wonderful Treefort Music Festival every spring that I have participated in from every aspect as an artist, photographer, woodworker, and my favorite: audio consumer. Every year there is a chance to network, exchange creative ideas, get inspired, and fuel up on music for the rest of the year. I call it “Boise’s Biggest Smile”.

It is fun to look back on life and see the effects of each action. To look at all the pixels that create the full picture. Living through those moments back then didn’t reveal a whole lot; I’m no fortune teller. But now, looking back, I can see every detail that led me to be the artist I am today, through the steps I took—or—the ones I didn’t. There is one in particular that pops in my head often. When street art became a costly practice at an early age, I broke down the characteristics of graffiti that drew me in, and cross-referenced them with other practices of art that weren’t so… illegal. It lined up perfectly with graphic design, and at 14, I made up my mind and began my journey.

HELPING ARTISTS ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS IS A CONSTANT GOAL OF MINE

Evermore Prints is a local printshop, with our main clientele being artists. We specialized in fine art reproduction, color accuracy, archival print methods,  educating artists on reproduction options, and assisting them to achieve their artistic goals. I worked 1-on-1 with hundreds of local and national artists, handling and photographing their originals, preparing multiple file exports, maintaining their files in a large database, guiding them through the reproduction methods, and optimizing their sales with a wide range of products. We also had gallery shows once a month in which I would design printed materials, organize and hang the artwork.

I performed under many job descriptions during my 4 years there. I would operate large format and xerographic print presses. I would print, seal, and stretch canvas gallery wraps, as well as use a hydraulic cutter to trim prints down and package them to be sale-ready for the artist. I was also  the lead in-house designer and always maintained a great level of customer service. I truly did it all at Evermore, and I am excited for the next job that has that level of immersion, responsibility, skill, and reward.

COMMUNITY IS TOP PRIORITY, AND NOTHING NOURISHES A COMMUNITY MORE THAN ART AND MUSIC
